Match temperament, size and water. A peaceful fish is only peaceful next to fish that can't fit it in their mouth, and that don't chase it.
Bigger water is more stable water. Minimum tank sizes on our labels assume adult size, not the size of the fish in the bag.
Float the bag for 15 minutes, then add small cups of tank water over 30–45 minutes. Net the fish across — don't pour shop water into your tank.
Freshwater is cheaper and more forgiving; saltwater opens up reef colour but needs more equipment and patience. We're happy to talk through both.
